Two Truths and a Lie Thursday

BWS tips button
Last week I said:
1. I LOVE chocolate! I could eat it all day and not feel guilty about it.

LIE: I do love me some chocolate but it must be attached to peanut butter in some way!  I will not eat chocolate without peanut butter and it is not high on my list of yummy things.
2. I collect cookbooks.
Truth:  I have to count how many at some point.  I do collect cookbooks, all kinds, sizes, types.  I have several places where I keep them and I do cook out of all of them!

3. I eat salsa by the spoonfulls so much that I planted my own garden with tomatos, onions, peppers, etc to make it on my own.
Truth:  I started a garden 4 years ago now with tomato, green peppers, habanaros, jalapanos, cilantro, green beans *although the bunny ate these*, lettuce, cucumbers, zuchinni, and onions.

This week!
1.  I may be the mom to 4 boys but I am also the aunt to 4 girls....and a new baby coming of unknown gender!

2.  My favorite movie is The King and I.

3.  I am an avid runner and compete in marathons regularly.

I swear my life is being taped

Today we were at a birthday party and Matthew had THREE poop accidents.  I'm hoping we can get this straighted out on Wednesday (let's hope the appoitment is for the afternoon and not the morning otherwise I have to cancel it so I don't miss a class).  Chris was afraid of everyne and hit while people tried talking to him.  I think I have a UTI or a bladder infection since I keep feeling tons of pressure and having to go but not much coming out.  George was with family so he got smashed like he always does at a family function.  I wanted to go home but he didn't want to.

Now it is 10 and Jon fell asleep on the couch.  Chris pushed him off so he could fall alseep on the couch.  George is passed out upstairs and I'm on the computer and will now be stuck with tons of homework to do tomorrow.  On a bright side one more week of class!  ONLY 4 more wake ups and then I'm a graduate.  I will be a master of my own domain!

I want Chris to be able to hug me without out me asking him for one.  I want him not to wipe my kisses off.  I want to hear him say "I love you" not because he is repeating what I say.

I'm now going to be fighting with our school district for Chris.  They have him at different levels than he is at.  They denied his PT services.  I called and told them I disagreed with their levels and they aren't returning my calls.  I had his PT call and they won't even pick up.  I'm burnt out and he's only starting his school career.  How am I going to make it the next 15 years with him and the school system?

On a good note the grocery store and a sale on ice cream.  Haagan Dazs was on sale!  I picked me up sone chocolate peanut butter ice cream!  NUMMY!

Two Truths and a Lie Thursday

BWS tips button
Last week I said:
1. My real hair color is blonde.
Yup!  I really am a blonde!  I have proof!

2. I grew up in New Jersey and my husband and I are high school sweathearts.
Nope!  We met when I was 23 and he was 30.  I grew up in a tiny town in Pennsylvania called Renovo.  I moved to New Jersey to be with George.

3. I have a friend that I talk to frequently that lives in Virgina. We know much about each other to the point where you'd think we knew each other forever. Yet we've never met face to face.
True :(  Although that should change this weekend!

This week's Two Truths and a Lie.

Tasty Tuesday *another Tuesday post*

I'll add pictures later.  I'm going to share our snack recipe from today.  My boys love to help in the kitchen.  Today we made yogurt covered bananas.  It was simple to do...even a 4 year old could do it!

We took bananas and rolled them in strawberry yogurt.  After that we rolled them  in strawberry granola with flax seed cereal from Target.  Next we put it in the fridge to harden the yogurt.  See?  So simple a 4 year old could do it!

I couldn't make this up if I tried

My Matthew is so innocent.  Bless him!

A conversation with Matthew today....

Matthew: "Mommy, only big people touch dicks"

Me: "What?"

Matthew: "Daddy touches his dicks."

Me: "Matthew please explain what you are meaning."

Matthew: "Daddy and Joshua touch their dicks. You know!"

Me: "Matthew, I don't know that. What do you mean by them touching their dicks?"

Matthew walked over to the Wii and said "You know, the Wii dicks"

Me: "Oh...you mean discs Matthew."

We will have to correct this one!

POTW: SLEEP

When they were infants, how did you get your babies to sleep/nap at the same time?

We did the shush-pat thing if George was home with me.  When I was alone, I rocked the boys together.  I loved being able to cuddle with them and snuggle at the same time!

If they wake up early from a nap, how did/do you handle that?
It depended on how early the wake up was.  If it was early in their nap, they got hte shush-pat on their back and would fall back asleep.  Otherwise, we took the "offending" boy out and played with them alone.

Do you have a minimum amount of time that you want your babies to sleep, or at least rest in their cribs for?
Not really

Napping transitions (this is a big one!): How did/do you handle the situation of going from two naps to one, when one child is ready and the other(s) were not?
Lucky for me, daycare did this!  Jon and Matthew went to daycare for a year and they took care of the nap transition so I didn't have to do it!

If you have older multiples- how did the transition to toddler beds affect their sleep patterns? When did naps *gasp* come to an end?
We transitioned out of naps much earlier than I wanted and it is still a sore subject in our house!  When I was pregnant with Christopher, my mother-in-law had the boys while I was on bedrest.  She felt that almost 2 was too old for napping so she stopped napping them.  They refused to take one at our house since they didn't at her house.  I was not ready for no naps with them.  2 years later and I'm still bitter!  As far as transitioning to a bed from a crib, we waited until AFTER we had Christopher to do it.  We didn't want them having to deal with too many changes.  Chris slept with us in our room so we didn't need to take them from their cribs until he was about 4-5 months old.  When we did put them in regular beds we'd find them like this

Don't forget to enter my give away!  It ends on Friday!

Happy Anniversary George

Dear George,
6 years ago (give or take a few hours) I married my best friend.  There was a point in time where I had given up on finding love, sounds silly when we met when I was 23 but I have to tell you I had really given up.  I had been burned and broken hearted.  Then I was forced into a blind date went on a blind date to meet you.  Your aunt got this one right, huh?

It's been hard at times but who said marriage was easy?  We both know that marriage can be hard sometimes and it does take work.  I think that after what we have gone through these past several years we can get through anything!

I know it sounds cliche but I do love you more today than I did yesterday and the day before and the day before......I think that with each passing day that I see you with our boys, it makes me fall in love with you more!

Product review and give away

About a month ago I ordered a gift for my boys' teachers as an end of the school year gift.  I was looking for something that was a fun gift for a group of women and came across this store on etsy and with the help of Jon and Matthew picked out soaps.  When we got them in the mail they were DEVINE!  I almost kept them all and got the teachers a new gift!  I promptly ordered more and gave them to my sister for her birthday!

Blissology has an amazing line of hand-made soaps that come in all kinds of varieties.  I am using Stress Be Gone and adore the way it makes my skin feel after a shower!  We are using the Honey Almond Oatmeal with the boys during bath-time.  It is such a great soap to use on Matthew's sensitive skin.

Not only do these soaps smell devine but they look beautiful!  They look almost too beautiful to use!  I have to tell you that the guilt quickly goes away after using them for the first time and seeing how great my skin feels after using their soaps.

They do have soaps for guys as well, not just the ladies!  George got the Guiness Beer and Irish Oatmeal soap.  It is such a fun soap to give to the guy in your life!

So, the give away will be a bar of soap.  The rules of the give away will be very easy.  You need to go on the Blissology site and tell me what soap you would like if you were to win.  Next you need to become a follower of my blog. For another entry, follow me on twitter.

Head Meet Brick Wall

  • Our local school district didn't have the boys enrolled in the ESY services even though they were to get Speech and OT for 30 minutes each week, one hour total of therapy.  ESY starts this week.

  • This was my first week of class four days a week, 8 am to 1 pm.  It takes me an hour and a half to get there.  I am up at 5 am.

  • Having said that, it is now 11 pm and Chris is now awake and on my lap.  I am ready to put my kid outside with a sign that says "Free to a Good Home" *I wrote this Thursday night*

  • I saw Eclipse yesterday and despite the age difference of 14 years the fact that Taylor Lautner doesn't know who I am, I must say he is yummy and would totally leave my husband in a heartbeat for a night with him!

  •   My camera isn't transfering my pictures so I can't share any and am going to have to figure it out.
