The Butcher, the Baker and the Candlestick Maker

Nap time around our house is a hoot! It is so much fun! *rolling my eyes* So, today I was cutting apples to make an apple crisp as Diane was holding Chris and I heard Matt start screaming "BOO BOO!" after what seemed like the millionth time of putting them back into their beds. I ran upstairs and his hands were covered in blood and it was dripping out of his mouth. He split his upper lip and two of his front teeth are now loose.

So, on to the meaning of my post title....Jon was quite the little helper today as I was making the apple crisp. He helped me make the apple crisp by pouring the ingredients to the topping and then stirring it. He kept asking for more to pour. He loved helping so much he decided to taste his creation even though it wasn't cooked. He didn't like the way it tasted.

The Escape Artists

Jon and Matt have made a new habit of escaping out of places that they don't want to stay in. They now excape out of their cribs, which makes nap and bed time a fight, and they climb out of the baby jail.

There was a big football game yesterday. Penn State versus number one ranked Ohio State. Even though the game was past their bedtime, Jon and Matt had to root their team on. Chris even got in on the action.

Matt wore his favorite team's jersey yesterday to root the team on.

Jon needed consoling because he knew PSU was going to lose :(

Brothers sharing a moment.

Chris started smiling recently. He was happy to be wearing PSU gear.

Jon and Matt were trying to tell Chris that even though PSU lost that he would be ok.

Somehow I don't think this works....

Our Little Artists

Matthew has this thing about crayons. He carries on all over. The problem with it is he colors everything with his crayons. He has colored the wall, the couch, the tv, his bed, the tray on the high chair.

Josh's birthday

Josh's birthday was the 21st. Depsite me ordering him not to turn 10 he did :( We went up and visited my grandfather that weekend. I've not seen him since July. But, I did have a good excuse. I wasn't able to go farther then around the area where my hospital was.

When it came to Josh opening up his presents for his big day our camera battery died so I only have one picture of his. I was kinda hoping someone would send me pictures. Afterall what's the use of an expensive camera if you aren't willing to share pictures, huh?

Flaming Foliage

This weekend was the annual Flaming Foliage Festival. For those who don't know what that is, it's a parade, flea market and celeberating of the leaves turing colors. It's a big thing in Renovo. Chris met his cousins for the first time. Jon and Matt loved the parade.

Matt was making a noise like a firetruck siren.

Matt dancing with Aunt Cathy.

Kasey would only hold Chris after I changed his poopy diaper.

Josh and Donatello (as he wanted to name Chris). He asked us to name him Donatello Rafael Michallango Leonardo.

My 4 men

When he is older and has a girlfriend, this will be a picture to share.

Matt was so tired at lunch on Sunday that he fell asleep.

Jon is finally interested

After several weeks of Jon just being an observer in this "new brother" thing, he is finally interested in more than saying baby and pointing at Chris. He saw Matt holding Chris last night and asked to hold him as well. He did a good job at being gentle and looked darn cute doing it!

Matt started doing "Itsy Bitsy Spider" with me yesterday. He does the hand movements with me.

Matt was saying "Cheese" here.

3 under 2

Wanna know what life with 3 under 2 is like? Technically I can claim that I had 3 under 2 for 4 days. Most days it's fine, but there are days where all I keep repeating is the song lyrics "Mama said there'd be days like this.". I've caught Matt unhooking Chris out of his swing and trying to pick him up. The swing is now moved away from where Matt is at all times. Matt is very good with Chris. He wants to hug, hold, kiss, feed, anything having to do with Chris, he's there. Jon wanted nothing to do with him at first. Now, he'll tell me "Baby" when Chris cries. He also gets me bottles and diapers for Chris. But, today was one of those "wonderful" days. Not because of fitting Chris into the mix but because Jon and Matt are potty training. I figured I'd wait until they gave us cues that they were ready. They started wanting to go on the potty last week. Both boys have had a little tinkle in the potty. And, Matt did try pooing today. But as soon as his diaper went back on he did. Jon has this wonderful habit of taking his diaper off. He's only done it with pee diapers so far....ya get where I'm going with this? Today he pooped, took his diaper off and rolled in his own poo! When he woke up from his nap, his legs, arms, hands, hair, crib, sheets, and dresser were all covered in poo! I put him in the tub and washed him up then searched for a cleaning product that would clean and sanatize his crib and dresser (call me Hygena). Fun, fun!

Ok, pictures...
